GCT Deltaport | Delta, British Columbia

GCT Deltaport, Canada’s flagship container terminal, is located at Roberts Bank in the Port of Vancouver. It is an 85-hectare (210-acre) facility with three contiguous berths totaling 1,100 metres (3,609 feet). The state-of-the-art terminal is designed to handle the largest transpacific container vessels in service and features 2 new Megamax cranes—the largest in the Americas—in its fleet of twelve high-speed, super post-Panamax ship-to-shore cranes. Through equipment upgrades as well as process and design change, the recently completed CAD$300mm rail yard expansion sustainably increased capacity by over 50%, all within its existing footprint. Ensuring the facility is equipped to handle volume surges from the biggest ships, GCT Deltaport’s on-dock intermodal yard is now the world’s largest and most advanced in the world, with tracks totaling 8,334 metres (27,350 feet).
