Investing in the Future of Trade
Being “Best Managed” means taking a long-term approach to building capacity and supporting the global supply chain. We are currently advancing several landmark initiatives to better serve you:
- Modernizing Infrastructure: We are investing $170 million in six new Megamax ship-to-shore cranes along with new technology. As the largest on the West Coast, these cranes are designed to handle vessels up to 25,000 TEU, ensuring faster turnaround times and more reliable service.
- A Legacy of Evolution: Our recent milestone celebration of 50 years of Vanterm recognizes five decades of shaping container trade on Canada’s West Coast. From its early days in 1975 to today’s modern operations, the terminal continues to evolve through innovation, investment, and the people behind it.
- A Global Commitment to Sustainability: Our operations are grounded in our Global Commitment. We are well on our way to achieving our target of 45% reduction in absolute emissions by 2030, with a clear path to Net Zero by 2050 through electrification and renewable fuels.
